Blair Athol 2013

Our foray into the world of octave maturation continues with this Blair Athol in ruby port. Sitting on the south edge of Pitlochry in Perthshire, near the Tummel river, this Highland single malt remains a staple in the Diageo stable. A soft and delicate whisky, this provides a lovely feel and relaxed suite of flavours to balance some of our punchier releases. The whisky was matured in a refill bourbon hogshead before being re-racked into a ruby port octave for further maturation for just over a year.

The label is “The Path” by Tim Fraser who we connected with over a mutual love of whisky. You can see more of Tim and his brother’s foray into geeking about whisky and other endeavours at @thewhiskeygeeks.

This single malt scotch whisky is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, yielding 52 bottles at a cask strength of 54.3% ABV.
